Founded in 2015 by winemaker Nikos Karatzas, Oenops (meaning “Wine Face”) is a Greek winery with a distinctive approach. Unlike traditional wineries that own vineyards, Oenops partners with local growers who cultivate indigenous grape varieties across Greece. This collaboration allows them to focus on cool-climate sites and mature vines, ensuring the highest quality fruit.

Rather than following rigid winemaking protocols, Oenops adopts a flexible and adaptable approach. Each batch is carefully monitored and refined, ensuring that the final product reflects their philosophy of producing elegant and enjoyable wines.
Oenops’ focus on indigenous grape varieties such as Malagousia, Assyrtiko, Vidiano, Xinomavro, Limniona, and Mavroudi allows them to showcase the diversity of Greek winemaking. By working closely with individual vineyard plots, they gain a deeper understanding of the land and can continually improve their wines with each vintage.
