Bordeaux Wine Month is a promotional campaign that allows you to shine the spotlight back onto one of the world’s best-known wine regions and the value and unexpected diversity that it offers.
“Bordeaux Wine Month is a great and fun campaign that allowed us to focus on Bordeaux … people know about the region, but they don’t always appreciate that great white wines are made there, and they maybe forget some of the fantastic dessert wines that are available … the social media support and the customer literature really made a difference.”
– Andy Cole of Vinotopia, Nailsworth, which took part in last year’s Bordeaux Wine Month and was crowned one of the three winners, alongside Amps Wine Merchants and Highbury Vintners
What’s on offer for participating indies? Cash support to the tune of £200, promotional materials, a digital toolbox and social media assets too.
Once you’ve signed up you will be part of a country-wide campaign that will include events, training and in-store tastings. Bordeaux Wines has a dedicated social media team on hand to support you every drop of the way, and your participation will be publicised through its own channels.
In return? You will be asked to hold at least three, in-store tastings, over two weeks during September. A minimum of 60 customers over the three events should have the chance to taste at least four Bordeaux wines, including one dry white.
Why do it? Bordeaux Wine Month provides a chance to enthuse your team and your customers about Bordeaux and in line, boost sales – during last year’s promotion each store sold an average of 120 extra bottles of Bordeaux wines.
What’s more, you could be a winner! First prize secures an exciting three-day trip to Bordeaux to meet the winemakers and taste the wines. Four runners-up will earn £250 for their businesses, to put towards new Bordeaux listings.
Talking about the great wines of Bordeaux is rarely tricky, but with customers tightening the purse strings, Bordeaux Wine Month 2022 is your chance to promote the fantastic value that today’s Bordeaux offers.
Which wines to promote? A focus on the diversity and accessibility of Bordeaux wines will highlight the quality and value that they can offer and help increase customer awareness of the different wine styles. Take red Bordeaux wines for instance, from a timeless Saint-Emilion blend to more a fruitier single variety found in Côtes de Bordeaux.
Stockists of Crémant de Bordeaux will be able to sing this wine’s sparkling praises and show it off in both its white and pink forms.
You’ve also got the delicious white wines from the 2021 vintage to play with. Feedback for the 2021 white wines has been uniformly excellent, meaning there’s rarely been a better time to be promoting them.
And don’t forget the dry, food-friendly rosé wines that are also made in Bordeaux.
Bordeaux Wine Month is a well-supported campaign that is guaranteed to boost sales in the category, as well as creating a platform on which future sales can build.
