Liberty Wines has taken on UK distribution for two Greek producers, Kir-Yianni from Macedonia and Domaine Sigalas from Santorini.
Both were previously represented in the UK by Enotria.
Kir-Yianni was founded in 1977 by Yiannis Boutaris after he left his family business, Boutari Wines.
The business farms 48 hectares of hillside vineyards in Naoussa (10 of which are certified organic), mapped into 42 individual blocks, and 54 hectares in Amyndeon, Greece’s coolest vine-growing region (pictured).
Domaine Sigalas is described by Liberty as a “pioneering” Santorini estate founded in 1991 by Paris Sigalas. It was supported by Kir-Yianni from 2009 until the winery transitioned into Kir-Yianni full ownership in 2025.
The estate manages 40 hectares of estate and leased vineyards in the northern parts of the island.
Liberty CEO Tom Platt says: “We are hugely excited to be working with Kir-Yianni and Domaine Sigalas – two dynamic estates whose environmental credentials and focus on sustainability match our own as a Carbon Neutral Plus company.
“They sit perfectly alongside our existing Greek producer Kanakaris, together with Matošević and Enosophia of Croatia, Dalia of Serbia and Gašper of Slovenia, in offering highly distinctive wines from native varieties that have an authentic sense of place and will bring real excitement to our customers’ wine lists.”
