Tim Hollis-Carroll, national accounts manager at Daniel Lambert Wines, has died after a short illness.
Colleagues have paid tribute to “a proud ambassador, confidante and friend” who was “a huge asset” to the business.
His career also involved periods at Enotria&Coe and Majestic Commercial.
Daniel Lambert said: “Tim was an avid wine trade professional of over three decades, and I know from the messages we have been getting he was both respected and well liked across the entire industry.
“I am pleased he was able to visit wine destinations around the world that were on his bucket list while he was under our wing. The wine industry in the UK will be a poorer place without his input.”
Tim’s partner, Shirley, posted on social media: “It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beloved Tim Hollis-Carroll passed away peacefully at home on Monday after a brief illness.
“He meant so much to so many people, and we know many of you will be shocked to hear this news. We are still processing the loss but taking comfort in the fact that it was peaceful and without pain.
“In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral – he was quite adamant about this.
“Thank you to everyone who held Tim in their heart. He was deeply loved and respected by those who knew him.”
